The sun had been peeking through the clouds since the thunderstorms of the previous night, raising questions about whether the weather would disrupt the parade and the subsequent July Jubilee in the town park. It was July 13th, the day of the much-anticipated First Annual July Jubilee Parade, and after a brief delay, the parade proceeded down 5th Ave. The street was filled with energy and excitement.

The parade began with the KPD opening the parade, followed closely by Mayor Wanda Morrison.

The Mayor was followed by two of the many hard-working Kenbridge town employees. 

Our State Delegate Tommy Wright and members of the Lunenburg Republican party. 

The representatives of Lunenburg Girls Softball, a player, and the league commissioner. 

Dundas native Billy Johnston broke out his classic Dodge Dart Swinger.

Nawlins Towing showed up with their mud/pulling truck. 

5th District Congressional candidate John McGuire showed up to thank the people of Kenbridge and Lunenburg for their support. 

Kenbridge Volunteer Fire Department was in force, led by Chief Ferrel Alder. I am not a fire apparatus expert, but I know that they call the brush truck the brush truck. However, I am not sure if the others are “Engines” or “Trucks.” Feel free to correct me in the comments.

Showing their community support are the friends and family of Kenbridges newest business, “Community Market.” 

Friends and family of Kenbridge Construction took part in celebrating the company’s seventy-fifth anniversary.
